1. Purpose and eligibility
Noir POS Backup is operated by Noir Boutique for its account owner and authorized system administrators. Its purpose is to support backup and recovery of the private POS application and selected business data. It is not a public storage service, online shop or customer account portal.
You may authorize the utility only for a Google account you control or are permitted to administer. You must also have authority to back up the source data. Do not use the utility to access another person's account or records without authorization.
2. Administrator responsibilities
- Protect Google account access, OAuth credentials, server access and the backup encryption password.
- Keep a recovery copy of the encryption password outside the backup server. An encrypted repository cannot be recovered without a usable key.
- Configure the backup scope, schedule and retention policy appropriately, and handle personal data in accordance with the privacy policy and applicable obligations.
- Review backup results and storage capacity, maintain software and periodically test recovery on a separate environment.
- Use Restic's retention tools rather than deleting arbitrary repository objects. Restore only to a suitable target after preserving any data that must not be overwritten.
3. Availability and recovery limitations
No backup process can guarantee uninterrupted operation or the recovery of every transaction. Recovery is limited to data successfully captured and retained in a usable backup. Transactions still queued on offline client devices are not part of a server backup until synchronized.
A new server may require compatible software, restored permissions, network configuration, a new NetBird enrollment, valid HTTPS certificates and testing before use. A backup archive is not, by itself, a universally bootable server image.
These information pages do not activate, monitor or certify a backup job. A successful deployment of this website must not be treated as evidence that backups or automatic recovery are working.
4. Third-party services
Google Drive provides storage under its own terms, quotas, availability and account policies. Restic and rclone provide backup and transport functionality under their respective licenses. Hosting and network services are managed separately by the operator. This utility is not endorsed by or affiliated with Google.
Account restrictions, expired or revoked credentials, insufficient storage, network failures and third-party changes can interrupt backup or recovery. The administrator is responsible for maintaining authorized access and addressing such failures.
5. Ending access
The account owner may stop the backup schedule and revoke Google authorization at any time. Doing so does not automatically delete existing backups or local source data. Any deletion must be carried out by an authorized administrator using an appropriate retention and recovery procedure.
